Rosemary and Mint Glycerin Cleanser
- 1 ounce (29g) glycerin (vegetable based is best)
- 2 ounce (60ml) liquid Castile soap
- 1 ounce (30ml) water
- 1/2 ounce (15ml) witch hazel
- 1 drop rosemary extract
- 1 drop mint extract
Mix together and store in a plastic or glass bottle. Label with name and date.
Shelf Life: 3 to 6 months
This recipe uses the liquid Castile and the glycerin adds moisture and glide-off for the cleansing bubbles and grime. For slightly sensitive to normal skin, the witch hazel and rosemary provides extra (yet soft) cleaning power through the natural antibacterial component. The mint (optional) is great for your skin and it helps soften the slightly pungent smell from witch hazel and rosemary.
What is Castile?
This facial cleanser... uses liquid Castile soap (found at most health food stores) … I often have been asked where Castile comes from. The first pure olive oil soap (solid and liquid) originated in a town called Castile in Spain. The name stuck for this little simple olive oil based cleanse…Liquid Castile soap is a gentle, low-cost base product you can buy to make a multitude of safe and basic home cleansers. Sometimes, you may need to dilute it with water to make it gentler on you face.
