Homemade Moisturizer Recipe

DIY Natural Skin Cream for Daytime

Maybe you have just read our "An Introduction to Natural Moisturizer" and want to learn how you can make your own. This simple natural moisturizer recipe is great for normal to oily skin and you don't have to be worry about unhealthy chemicals entering your body.

Natural Daytime Light-Moisture Lotion

  • 1 ounce (29g) aloe vera gel
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) melted beeswax
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) glycerin
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) avocado oil

Rapidly stir the ingredients together by hand, then slow down and keep stirring until the beeswax cools, about five to seven minutes. Put in a (glass) jar. Label with name and date.

Shelf-Life: 2 weeks to 1 month

This easy-to-make, non-greasy, lotion works great to moisturize and protect your skin, but not clog your pores. And, you can wear make-up over it without worry. The Aloe Vera gel is water soluble (used to stretch and extend the oils in water), soothing, will not stimulate sebum production, and it lets your skin breathe, which is really important for all skin but especially oily skin. The beeswax is a natural wax that offers a slight barrier to free radicals. The glycerin is water-soluble and a humectant (helps retain moisture as nature’s best moisturize) and just a small amount of a lightweight oil will help protect and soften your skin without being too heave.
