How to Make Natural Paint Remover
Non-toxic Paint Remover Recipe
Perhaps one of the most perplexing stains to remove, paint stains can be the biggest head-scratchers of them all. But with these simple, natural homemade paint remover techniques, you’ll be wiping your brow in no time at all.
- Blot first: Regardless of the type of paint, while it is still wet blot as much of it up as possible without rubbing.
- Wet latex: Try rinsing it out of any garments with cold water before it dries. Adding some natural laundry detergent can help to remove it completely.
- Dry latex: Though somewhat funny, this can be the most effective method for dried-on latex paint. Work in the solution, rinse with water, and launder as normal for clothing.
- Oil based: Run some rubbing alcohol through the stain and then soak the fabric in a mixture of hot white vinegar and milk in a 1:1 ratio. Rinse and repeat until the stain is gone, then launder as usual.
Getting paint out of carpeting can be a bit more challenging even still, but we’ve got solutions for those problems, too.
