Homemade Dog Dandruff Shampoo
How to Make Natural Dry Skin Shampoo for Your Pet
Humans aren’t the only ones who suffer through dry winter seasons. Like people, dogs and cats can suffer from dry skin which can contribute to dander and allergy problems and make your pet uncomfortable in the process.
Although one of the easiest ways to reduce dry skin in your pet is to add olive or fish oil to their diet (it can take up to 12 weeks to notice a difference, and your pet may have loose stools in the meantime), making your own dry skin shampoo is another great way to help soothe dry, itchy skin. Here’s a natural dry skin shampoo recipe that will have your pet itching less and feeling more comfortable:
- 1/3 cup glycerin
- 1 cup of natural, organic liquid dish soap
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 quart water
Mix all of these ingredients together in a large squeeze bottle and apply as you would a normal dog shampoo. It will likely need to be shaken before each use to ensure the glycerin has fully incorporated.
