ALOHAS: The On-Demand Future of Footwear

Founded in Barcelona, ALOHAS is a footwear brand best known for combining trend-driven design with an on-demand production model aimed at reducing overproduction.

On-Demand &
Pre-Order Production

ALOHAS has built its business around an on-demand production model that seeks to address one of fashion's biggest environmental challenges: overproduction. Instead of manufacturing large quantities before demand exists, new products are first introduced through an on-demand and pre-order system. This approach directly matches production to demand, significantly reducing excess inventory.

ALOHAS designs its collections in Barcelona while maintaining a manufacturing network centered on Europe. Spain and Portugal continue to serve as the company's primary production hubs, reflecting the region's long-standing footwear craftsmanship and manufacturing expertise. To support growing demand, ALOHAS has also expanded part of its production to Cambodia.

Beyond its on-demand production model, ALOHAS prioritizes fair labour conditions across its supply chain. To ensure this, all suppliers are required to follow a code of conduct aimed at upholding responsible working environments and labour standards.

Recycled & Vegan
Materials

ALOHAS has gradually expanded the use of recycled materials across selected products. Recycled inputs are incorporated into components such as soles, linings, heels and certain leather products. Some footwear also uses recycled leather, such as the Tb.490 Recycled sneakers and selected Rosalind ballet flats.

The brand also offers selected vegan styles made without animal-derived leather, providing an alternative for consumers seeking animal-free footwear. The current vegan styles use synthetic materials, including polyurethane-based vegan leather. Together, these material choices allow ALOHAS to reduce reliance on virgin inputs in selected products while offering alternatives to conventional leather.

LWG-Certified &
Leather

Leather remains one of the primary materials used throughout the ALOHAS footwear collection. While leather production continues to carry socio-environmental impacts, ALOHAS adheres to responsible sourcing. Its leather comes from suppliers certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), an international organisation that audits leather manufacturers against environmental performance and traceability standards.

Working with LWG-certified suppliers supports greater transparency throughout the leather supply chain while encouraging lower-impact manufacturing practices, including responsible chemical management and dyeing processes. Its leather complies with REACH requirements as well, which are the European Union's regulations governing the safe use of chemicals.

Beyond
the First Owner

ALOHAS extends its sustainability strategy beyond the initial purchase through Afterlife, the brand's official resale platform. Rather than encouraging products to reach the end of their lives after a single owner, the platform enables customers to buy and sell pre-owned ALOHAS footwear, helping extend product lifecycles and keep wearable items in circulation for longer.

The initiative reflects a growing shift toward circular fashion, where maintaining the value of existing products becomes part of a brand's sustainability strategy. By creating an official marketplace for second-hand footwear, ALOHAS supports reuse while giving customers a trusted destination to resell or purchase authenticated pre-owned products.

Combined with its on-demand production model, Afterlife demonstrates how ALOHAS approaches sustainability across multiple stages of a product's lifecycle, from manufacturing fewer new products to encouraging existing pairs to remain in use for longer.
